Our Vision

Our Vision

The Global Centre for Social Justice & Advocacy Leadership

The Global Centre for Social Justice and Advocacy Leadership (TGC) marks the next chapter in a 30-year journey that began as the Edmund Rice Centre for Justice & Community Education. Today, the stakes are higher than ever: climate change, forced migration and widening inequality form an interlocking polycrisis that demands bold, evidence-based action. Our vision is to build an organisation that is focused, fit-for-purpose and ready to meet these challenges head-on.

Our Values — P L A C E

Value What it means in practice

Presence Culturally grounded engagement with partners, Elders and emerging leaders; deep accompaniment in advocacy programs.

Liberation Driving systemic change and de-colonising models by sharing power with lived-experience leaders.

Agency Equipping individuals and communities to become self-directed advocates through capacity-building programs.

Compassion Centring relationship, story and healing in all advocacy — especially in the post-referendum First Nations space.

Empowerment Developing leaders who amplify grassroots wisdom, youth voice and intersectional solidarity.

What Drives Us

· Speak truth to power at the heart of decision-making — not just at the gatekeepers’ doors.

· Measure success by impact, not activity, ensuring every initiative shifts real-world outcomes.

· Influence policy through rigorous research that deepens national and international debates.

· Scale deep: align with community priorities, invest in emerging leaders and amplify unheard voices.

· Champion innovation, developing tools that make advocacy smarter and more effective.

· Foster the next generation of social and climate-justice leaders, equipping them to navigate complexity with courage and skill.

· Forge powerful partnerships that drive collective action today, tomorrow and into the future.
